Awkward Flirtations & Virgin Blood
A special chapter from the POV of a special pterippos.
Jude was attacked by a wolf once when he was very young, and developed a fear of most animals shortly after. He thinks there is some truth to the Babylonian belief that cats escort the dead to the underworld, while there has been no evidence to support this.
He changes his appearance fairly often, though not enough to completely alter his appearance. He mainly changes his hair color and adds tattoos to his body, while only occasionally changing his eye color.
Horace and Jude took advantage of the hippie movement in the sixties and seventies to travel the world. Because he’s well-travelled, Horace has learned Hindi, Tamil, Urdu, and German, and he’s a member of the International Language Club.

Chapter VI, part iii: And Down The Yellow Brick Road They Go
Though he hates to admit it, Virgil is a bit of a techie. He enjoys researching the latest tech almost as much as he does buying and using it.
I shot Diego a swift look, hoping he would shrug off my suspicions and explain what really happened. He hadn’t–no, couldn’t–tear his eyes away from Cari. I didn’t think he was capable of expressing such terror; his eyes looked as if they would pop out of his head, his jaw had dropped, and he had lost all the color in his face. Those teal eyes were darker than ever, glued to my younger half-sister.
