She was name dropped in Aquarius, and she’ll have a cameo in Taurus before we explore her tribe in Pisces. It’s time to discuss Rave, teleporter to the main tribe of Havet!

Three facts about Rave:
- Rave goes on runs every morning, works out, and tries to attend Sparkle’s morning yoga sessions. This sets her apart from other porters, as they’re known for being lazy.
- Her favorite pastime? Using her teleportation to startle others. Fear, Vanish, and Sparkle are frequent victims.
- Rave has had trouble getting over Rush… Especially now that they both recall who his soul mate is.
My thoughts on Rave:
Rave is a character that I think many readers are going to relate with, and maybe even feel sorry for. Her feelings for Rush are kind of like his feelings for Dream–they began at a young age, so it’s hard to let go even when it looks like it will never happen. That’s not to say that Rush hasn’t gotten over his feelings for Dream; nowadays he’s more concerned with reaching out to his soul mate, so things are just awkward and strained between them. Rave was gracious enough to never hold Rush’s emotions against Dream, so the two have remained friends.
When I intended for Saturn Rising to be one book instead of three, I wrote that the Cronian representatives met with the Poseideans almost immediately after they ventured to Cytherean territory. In that version, Rave intimidates the angels and even murders a demon in order to avenge one of her friends. I’ve decided to forego that whole thing; when we return to TCoLD in Taurus, we will get a glimpse of the lives of the Cythereans in the week before meeting with the Cronians. Likewise, we’ll see the Cronian leadership grow closer–and more distant in some cases–as they research the Cythereans and prepare for their visit.
It’s also worth noting that Rave is the only fairy to hold any rank among their group’s leadership; most fairies are sweet and soothing, with plant-based or healing abilities, but Rave has neither the powers nor the demeanor of a typical fairy. She refers to herself as a demon, and to her tribe she’s just another demon from Neptune. The only noticeable difference anyone will see is the pair of butterfly wings protruding from the core of her soul instead of pterosaur wings.
For those of you who don’t know, Rave is a supporting character in my trilogy Saturn Rising, which is the first installment of The Chronicles of Life & Death. The first book, Aquarius, is available now on Amazon as an e-book and paperback. You can even read it all for free with Kindle Unlimited! Learn more here.
