Three facts about Imprint:
- Imprint’s astral projection causes him to unintentionally enter the dreams of those around him. He’s developed insomnia as a result.
- He’s beaten most of his peers in hand-to-hand combat. Only Perish can knock him down.
- Imprint and his soul mate, Zayn, have a dog, three cats, and many birds in their garden. Zayn jokes that Imprint wants to turn their home into a zoo.
My thoughts on Imprint:
I don’t know how many times I need to emphasize this, but I will repeat it until it’s seared into your mind: psychics are capable of defending themselves and others. Not just using their psychic attacks–I’ll be sure to make a post listing all the special abilities and attacks for every psychic in TCoLD once they’ve all been introduced–but most of them are physically capable of dishing out pain. Sure, Aquarius introduced you to Jeremy before he began training with Harry, but now he’s a force to be reckoned with (as we’ll see in Taurus & Pisces).
However, of all the psychics in this series, I think Imprint has got to be the most bad ass. Others will have their moments of bad-assery, but he seriously takes the cake. He works out on a regular basis, keeps a strict diet, and has actually beaten most of his teammates in combat–Bash and Dash included. His telepathy gives him an edge; he uses it to read his opponent’s mind to discern their next move before they even make it, and he immediately comes up with a counter.
Like Dash, Imprint didn’t meet his soul mate until after Chief Attack retired and relocated his leadership to defend the Kainai people. Zayn is a colonial scout who frequents the Kainai market daily, so the two became acquainted the very day Imprint moved there. Their connection was instant, and Zayn’s status with the local colony helped smooth over relations between the colonists and the indigenous humans.
For those of you who don’t know, Imprint is a supporting character in my trilogy Saturn Rising, which is the first installment of The Chronicles of Life & Death. The first book, Aquarius, is available now on Amazon as an e-book and paperback. You can even read it all for free with Kindle Unlimited! Learn more here.
