Happy Birthday, Yuli!

Yuliana had a bit of a rocky start within the coven, growing attached to Adrian and Bisi. This was around the time Bisi and Emerico were dating, so he grew jealous over the attention Yuli gave his girlfriend.

Here’s the beautiful, the loyal, the incomparable Yuliana Silva! Her birthday is today, so let’s learn a bit about her.

Three facts about Yuli:

As an aromantic, Yuliana is content in never finding a soul mate or starting a family. She’s grateful for the life she has and her friends in the coven.
She was raised as an orphan in the community of Campo Mourão. Though not very large, it’s protected by neighboring strongholds like Cascavel.
Thanks to her ability, she can easily reach speeds of 193 kilometers per hour. She can cross a football pitch in 2 seconds flat!

My thoughts on Yuliana:

Yuliana is one of the only Hermeans to be awakened prior to their recruitment. Virgilio, Fabian, and Adrian are the only exception, and in all cases, it would appear their awakenings were brought about by extreme duress. Yuli is no exception; she was nineteen when her community was raided by bandits. With no family or a place to go, she was living at the orphanage still, helping out with the children and menial chores. They were all taught self-defense and parkour was a staple in order to aid in quick escapes in the face of emergencies, so when the bandits stormed the community, Yuliana had to lead the children to safety. She could not save them all, and watching a few of the young ones in her care die horrible deaths unlocked her potential. The world seemed to slow down as she raced around, single-handedly fending off scavengers while running children out of harm’s way. By the time the Enki Coven received word and swooped in–Ignacio had yet to be recruited, so Adrian and Matteo were the fastest members at the time–Yuliana had overpowered most of the enemy and saved Campo Mourão.

Since her home village was no longer safe, the orphanage was closed and all of its inhabitants were adopted into neighboring strongholds. Yuliana had a bit of a rocky start within the coven, growing attached to Adrian and Bisi. This was around the time Bisi and Emerico were dating, so he grew jealous over the attention Yuli gave his girlfriend. She understood that Yuliana meant no harm; it was Adrian who mistook her attention for romantic interest and decided to try and let her down easy, as he was in a committed relationship with Zelia, a Guarani human from a local stronghold. Yuliana all but laughed in his face and revealed that she has never experienced romantic attraction, and she does not believe she ever will.

That marked the turning point of her role in the coven. Eager to prove her worth, Yuli began helping Meleni and Onyait with the farming, harvesting the crops in no time at all thanks to her super speed. Whenever Ignacio is busy, she’s the one who travels to nearby colonies on the coven’s behalf, checking on their defenses. In her spare time, she practices parkour at both super speed and “tortoise speed” AKA normal human speeds.
