Three facts about Adam:
- Adam has helped most of the court find clothing around their individual tastes. He has an eye for fashion and style.
- He’s kept a scrapbook diary of his life as an angel and his relationship with Isaac. He has his phone camera ready at all times.
- Adam’s the go-to barber and hair stylist for the entire court–except Scarlett. No one touches her hair.
My thoughts on Adam:
Adam is almost the quintessential Cytherean angel: he’s a transgender male, he’s gay, he had a rather sheltered upbringing in the Rock Springs colony–an area south of Jackson that saw frequent bandit activity–and he’s crafty. His skills lie more in sewing, photography, crafting, and styling than in fighting–however, he learned how to conceal himself, how to track, how to trap and hunt, and how to defend himself in hopeless situations. He gets along well with his peers, and he has a big heart. He’s even managed to get Kaylee to open up to him–if only to tell him her preferences for a haircut.
Adam does have family in the colony where he grew up, but he does not keep in touch as often as many of the other members. His parents insist on using his dead name and misgender him constantly–and the only reason they’re accepting of his homosexual relationship is because they see him as a woman and not a man. For those reasons, Adam spends more time at the Callahan household than he and Isaac do at the Holden farm. However, he doesn’t cut his parents out of his life for fear of losing the only family he knew prior to his recruitment.
Isaac and Adam, as with the other members of the court, will have to make a pivotal choice in Taurus… Whose side are they on?
For those of you who don’t know, Adam is a supporting character in my trilogy Saturn Rising, which is the first installment of The Chronicles of Life & Death. The first book, Aquarius, is available now on Amazon as an e-book and paperback. You can even read it all for free with Kindle Unlimited! Learn more here.
