Happy Birthday Adrian!

Adrian is one of the oldest characters I’ve had–meaning his character has been around since the story was first conceptualized. He’s gone through many changes: he used to be a teenager at the time of the story, he used to be Brazilian-American, he used to be downright crazy. He was created with an old friend in mind, so I literally based him off of how that friend would act in class when he came up against others in our friend group.

Three facts about Adrian:

  2. Adrian invented a version of futebol in which the players can utilize their individual abilities. Their games can get pretty wild!
  3. Adrian has a beautiful baby girl named Aline; her mother was a human who passed due to complications during childbirth. Aline is raised by both Adrian and her maternal grandmother.

My thoughts on Adrian:

I’m torn; I’d like to discuss Adrian as if you’ve read the first book of my series, but on the off chance that you haven’t, I don’t want to give out spoilers… Let’s see how this goes.

Now that the story has been transformed from a high school rom-com to a science fiction mystery, I thought it best to age him up a few years, temper his impulsive nature, and make him a father that much sooner.

In Aquarius, you only meet Adrian briefly, and you find him almost immediately in a tough situation. He meets someone who gives him some insight into his predicament–and some insight on the people behind it all.

In Taurus, you’ll only have another brief encounter of Adrian, but that is remedied in Pisces. He’ll be a bit more prominent there.

He’s a sweetheart, a bit of a practical joker. He and Ignacio pull pranks on the rest of their coven and each other very often. He’s honest, and a huge flirt. Aline is the most important person in his life.

For those of you who don’t know, Adrian is a supporting character in my trilogy Saturn Rising, which is the first installment of The Chronicles of Life & Death. The first book, Aquarius, is available now on Amazon as an e-book and paperback. You can even read it all for free with Kindle Unlimited! Learn more here.
