Random Facts:
1. Yolette is a member of the Blue Dreams, AOA’s volleyball team, and the Charms Club. While the latter is to be expected of an Enchanter, the former only has one other witch on its roster: freshman Millie Ritter, heir to the Bach Coven. Letty interacts with more heirs regularly while working on charms, mainly Lilly, Elyse, and Max. That is where she first met Alicia, though; the two have been close since their first year at the academy, sharing in many fashion-related interests. Even so, Yolette’s interest in fashion isn’t enough to goad her into joining the school’s Fashion Club like her bestie.
2. The typical familiar of this coven is either a reptile, amphibian, or small terrestrial mammal. Yolette’s familiar is a western pygmy rattlesnake named Jinx, aka her favorite bracelet or necklace to wear while doing homework or making jewelry.
3. She has a crush on Myrrh Fakrana, an elf and the president of AOA’s Poetry Club. It may have influenced her recent interest in poetry; she’s tried writing some, but it always comes off clunky or cringey to her.
4. She’s the daughter of Gesner and Marie Saint Vil, the best healer and offensive mage in the coven, respectively. While Yolette has learned how to perform the basics of both, she was struggling for some time to level up beyond rank two. It wasn’t until after Sienna, her cousin in the Hawkins Coven, admitted she was trying to find a way to combine her light and fire affinities that Letty considered combining her offensive and defensive magicks. She’s ranked up since applying this mindset and has developed a couple of unique techniques.
5. Piggybacking off the last fact: while not widely used for general spells among contemporary Enchanters, it isn’t uncommon for witches to use occult tools for conjuring magick. Beginner witches (those around the ages of four and seven) use wands to focus their mana into their conjurations before they move onto wandless invocations. Besoms, or brooms, are required for flight. Crystal balls, tarot cards, and scry mirrors are tools typically used in divination. Rituals, being traditional, may require several tools; athames, chalices, pentacles, cauldrons, and candles are just a few examples of the tools used. When a young witch has the potential for two or more magick variants, it’s recommended for them to use a tool to focus both magicks. The Saint Vil family commissioned a magick staff from Kindra Technologies that will allow Yolette to merge her offensive and defensive magick into one seamless style. She’s yet to debut it yet in a duel, but she trains with it regularly. It’s name is Lightbane! (Yes, she named it.)
