Now to dive into the second of Desideria’s soul mates–father of Sam and Ricky, blacksmith, and sword master: Alessandro Palladino!

Three facts about Aldo:
- Aldo comes from a large family that has lived in the Savannah colony since its conception. His father and uncles were all blacksmiths.
- He met Desi when he was recruited to the court at age fifteen. Neither party saw the other as more than a teammate until a decade later.
- Aldo was the one to recruit welcome Remiel’s family and recruit the speedster. Bonding with Desi has only brought both men closer.
My thoughts on Aldo:
Outside of his squad, Aldo appears very unapproachable. He’s stern, serious, and very intimidating. However, if you meet him when he’s around Desi, Remi, and Chris Sr., then the man’s all smiles. He loves the latter two as if they were his own brothers, and he adores Desi to pieces. Whenever one of the three visits Aldo at the colonial workshop, the humans are always blown away by the angel’s sudden shift in personality.
It’s normal for the elders to wait as long as possible before having kids. Aldo was thirty-eight when Sam was born, and well into his forties when Ricky came along; even so, he was a great, loving father to his boys, if only a tad stern. They learned blacksmithing from a young age and train diligently–more so than most of the spirits with abilities. Thanks to the closeness of their parents, Sam and Ricky were practically raised with Cienna, Natalie, Gordon, and Chris. (As the oldest, Cienna was always in charge… But as the shortest, she was almost always teased. Natalie beat up anyone who made fun of her sister, though.)
Aldo saw Natalie’s potential and began training her once her parents gave him permission. Remi wasn’t too happy with that, what with their family being more traditional. He’s overprotective of Cici and Nat, and thinks that Gordon should protect them at all costs. Aldo and Gordon have tried explaining that Natalie is the best fighter of their court, but the speedster won’t hear it. The only one he’s listened to is Desi, who’s gotten him to stop interrupting Natalie’s training.
