Happy Birthday Ricky!

Now let’s take a glimpse at the younger of the Palladino brothers, Aldo and Desideria’s son and Natalie’s ex, Ricardo Palladino!

Basic Info:

Age in Lizzie’s Diary: 21
Height: 6’1 | Weight: 150 lbs.
Hair: medium-length umber brown, wavy | Eyes: spice brown
Human Race: Italian-American | Species: Angel
Hailing Planet: Iuppiter
Ability: none
Rank: none
Specialties: blacksmith, gunsmith, gunslinger, risk-taker
Best friend: Samuel Palladino, Gordon Hall
Mentor: Alessandro Palladino
Soul mate: Cooper Montgomery

Three facts about Ricky:

  1. His soul mate bond with Cooper is very recent; they bonded a month after Gio’s recognition at the beginning of Aquarius. Cooper came onto him, which surprised everyone.
  2. The Palladinos are skilled blacksmiths and make weapons for the entire court. Their rite of passage comes in creating their first successful weapon.
  3. Ricky’s first and favorite weapon are two .44 Magnum revolvers named Oath and Honor. He fashioned them after the Colt Anaconda (8″ barrel).

My thoughts on Ricky:

Ricky is definitely a fan of old Western movies–particularly spaghetti Westerns. As part of their training, he and Sam have to learn how to make all kinds of weapons and tools. They’ve made daggers for most of the court, Natalie’s broadsword, and have been deliberating on what to make for Tony. Ricky has joked that they should make him a hammer and name it Mjolnir, but his elder brother believes a broadsword would be better for the teen.

Ricky and Nat, having always been very close, tried dating during Lizzie’s Diary, only to break up after a few months. Both were discouraged that their best friend could not be their soul mate, and made their friendship a bitter reminder of that failure. Just when they started overcoming that disappointment, though, Cooper swooped in shortly after her eighteenth birthday and asked out the young weaponsmith. Their bond was almost instant, further straining his friendship with Nat.

When he isn’t making weapons with Sam or hanging out with Cooper, Ricky is training with Gordon and Chris.

For those of you who don’t know, Ricky is a supporting character in my trilogy Saturn Rising, which is the first installment of The Chronicles of Life & Death. The first book, Aquarius, is available now on Amazon as an e-book and paperback. You can even read it all for free with Kindle Unlimited! Learn more here.
