Let’s bring in the new year by celebrating the birth of the eldest member of the Iuppiter Court: Lorenzo Alagona, older brother to Matteo and Desideria, and father to Salvatore, Francesco, and Antonio.
Basic Info:
Age in Lizzie’s Diary: 83
Height: 5’11 | Weight: 150 lbs.
Hair: short, wavy coal black, streaked with grey | Eyes: hazel green
Human Race: Italian-American | Species: Angel
Hailing Planet: Iuppiter
Ability: superhuman strength
Rank: Elder
Specialties: heavy-lifting, close combat, melee, unassuming appearance
Best friend: Matteo Alagona
Mentor: Montague Alagona I (deceased)
Soul mate: Marilena Giampa
Three facts about Enzo:
- Thanks to his superior physique, training regimen, and angel soul, he appears younger than he looks. He’ll be eighty-four by the time Aquarius takes place.
- He met his human mate while touring Savannah’s market fifteen years after he retired from the throne. Less than a decade later, the two were married and expecting Sal.
- Before Marilena, Lorenzo dated and nearly married an older man from the colony named Nico. Nico was killed while defending the colony from bandits.
My thoughts on Lorenzo:
Though he looks like a stern, muscular sixty-something, Lorenzo–or Uncle Enzo, as Monty, Mona, Sam, and Ricky call him–is a good-natured man in his mid-eighties. He’s bisexual, having been in romantic relationships with only two people: Nico Tayag, his first love for almost a decade; and Marilena Giampa, his soul mate and the mother of his three sons. He’s aware of the preferences of his own sons–Frankie was always very outspoken of his pansexual identity, and a father can tell that his youngest is in a not-so-secret relationship with his “friend”. With everything that’s happened between Lizzie’s Diary and Aquarius, Lorenzo hasn’t had the time to sit Tony down and express his acceptance.
This elder works out like a madman and can deadlift a semi-truck. He has a great sense of humor, and takes Chris Sr.’s and Remiel’s pranks very well–unlike his younger siblings. His views can be a bit old fashioned when it comes to bandits and demons, but he makes up for it by keeping an open mind regarding all the colonists he’s tasked to protect. He was a fair and protective leader in his time, and he takes his role as leader of the Council of Elders seriously… Most of the time.
For those of you who don’t know, Lorenzo is a supporting character in my trilogy Saturn Rising, which is the first installment of The Chronicles of Life & Death. The first book, Aquarius, is available now on Amazon as an e-book and paperback. You can even read it all for free with Kindle Unlimited! Learn more here.
