Happy Birthday Celia!

Man, it’s nice to get back into these again.

Time to meet a fun gal from the Enki Coven: Celia Ferreira!

Soul mate: Ignacio Abreu

Three facts about Celia:

  1. Celia grew up with Dianora and Virgilio, so she got to watch the two of them discover their feelings for each other. She also witnessed Virgilio’s ascension to Priest.
  2. She discovered she was transgender when she was 12 years old. Dianora and Virgilio supported her through her exploration.
  3. Her mate, Ignacio, is the coven’s teleporter–and a rambunctious prankster. She’s the only one known to get him to focus with a look.

My thoughts on Celia:

Celia, Dianora, Dante, and Virgilio were the first members of the Enki Coven to awaken. Before them, the Hermeans had not walked the Earth since the Great Spirit War–AKA, World War II. Virgilio was the priest, his soul mate Dianora was his vicar–a title she still holds to this day–Dante was recognized as their psychic, and Celia was simply a scout, a defender of their small band. As teenagers, they focused on keeping the southern urban territories of Brazil safe, all while seeking new recruits.

Thankfully, they didn’t have to wait long. They found Mateo and Emerico Esteves just a couple years after they took over as protectors. Dianora and Dante rescued Meleni and Teresa Pinho from bandits months later. Onyait, Bisi, Fabian, Adrian, and Yuliana were recruited over the following year; Ignacio was the last recruit, found shortly after the coven voted on Fabian to be their new priest.

While one of the few without an ability, Celia can hold her own against both bandits and ability-wielding spirits. She and Dianora train the coven in capoeira and jiu-jitsu, allowing them to hone their physical prowess.

On top of being an impressive fighter, Celia has also unearthed an interesting truth: since her soul mate is the porter for their coven, some of his ability seem to have rubbed off on her. She always seems to know where Ignacio is–which helps her in foiling his pranks.

For those of you who don’t know, Celia is a supporting character in my trilogy Saturn Rising, which is the first installment of The Chronicles of Life & Death. The first book, Aquarius, is available now on Amazon as an e-book and paperback. You can even read it all for free with Kindle Unlimited! Learn more here.
