Three facts about Whisper:
- Whisper, like a handful of other Poseideans, found her soulmate in a human. The two have three children, all teenagers.
- When she isn’t performing psychic duties, she runs her family’s farm. Her youngest, Barley, is named for their main crop.
- Whisper and her mate, Ash, host a family gathering once a month for the tribe. Only demons, their mates, and their children may attend.
My thoughts on Whisper:
I had to look up a list of verbs in order to name the Poseideans. That’s their theme; verbs relating either to their abilities or personality. I used this master list to name all except Rush and Risk–Rush was named after the friend he was originally created to embody, and Risk was named to match his odd nickname scheme. Whisper was not created to embody anyone I knew, but to give Wave Two their own psychic.
For those still unaware or confused by which Poseideans are apart of which wave, you can check out this post. The fourth sub-tribe listed is Wave One, or the first generation of spirits to awaken from the Havet Tribe. The next two above that one are both Wave Two, or the next generation. The main tribe and the long list of demons at the top of the page are Wave Three. There will be no Wave Four… For now.
Whisper is, if you haven’t guessed yet, a quiet person. She keeps to herself, which is common for telepaths–the ability to read minds gives them insight into the lives of others, whether they like it or not. If you were constantly hearing voices everywhere you went, wouldn’t you do anything to achieve even a sliver of privacy?
Whisper and Ash’s three kids are Erma, Jolee, and Barley–18, 14, and 10. They help their parents out on the farm and the older two watch over the other Poseidean children. They practice silencing their mental presence and meditation in order to grant their mother the peace she deserves. Ash comes from a family of tree farmers; the Woodwards have planted five trees for every one they chopped down in the last century. Whisper considers the tribe her family, but Dash is her best friend and confidant. It helps that, since her ability is rooted in enhanced physical traits, that Dash’s mind is more easily accessible to the psychic. This means there are no secrets between the quiet telepathic farmer and the demon speedster.
For those of you who don’t know, Whisper is a supporting character in my trilogy Saturn Rising, which is the first installment of The Chronicles of Life & Death. The first book, Aquarius, is available now on Amazon as an e-book and paperback. You can even read it all for free with Kindle Unlimited! Learn more here.
