Happy Birthday Attack!

Time to discuss the last chief to come before Scorch, the man who recruited Rush and his friends, Nail’s other half–Chief Attack!

Basic Info:

Real name: Young Hits Back
Age in Taurus: 36
Height: 5’9 | Weight: 160 lbs.
Hair: thick wavy sable black, shoulder-length
Eyes: umber brown
Human Race: Niitsitapi | Species: Demon
Hailing Planet: Havet
Ability: none
Rank: Chief
Specialties: strategy, logic, firearms and munitions, improvisation, negotiation
Best friends: Imprint, Chase, Dash
Mentors: Hex & Reflect
Soul mate: Nail

Three facts about Attack:

  1. Since Attack is a few years older than Nail, they didn’t meet until she was recruited by Chief Hex. He fell in love with her instantly.
  2. Attack’s parents are humans and members of the Niitsitapi council of chieftains. Perish and Hex joke that he was born to lead one way or the other.
  3. While he wants to believe in Rush, Attack cannot go against Chief Punish without evidence. No matter how much he cared about Scorch.

My thoughts on Attack:

When I first wrote a chapter where the Cronians meet with the Poseideans, I had included Attack as one of the demons. I’m unsure if I want to keep it that way, so we’ll see when Pisces comes along. As of right now, his first appearance will be in Taurus, and there’s a good chance it’ll be a one time thing until the focus shifts from the Cythereans to the Poseideans.

He’s a joker and a bit of a schemer; he’s young at heart, yet wise beyond his years. Many of Attack’s peers seek out his advice on various topics. They know that if he can’t help them find clarity, then there’s a good chance that Nail can. The couple are infamous for their easy-going relationship. Attack tells everyone that it only seems easy because the two share everything–there are no secrets between the chief and matron. They also take this approach with their parenting, speaking to Gerard as if he were their equal and not an inferior being.

Since members of Wave Two are only about a decade older than members of Wave Three, the two generations are closer to each other than either of them are to Wave One. The elder spirits tend to see Wave Two as their kids and Wave Three as grandkids, which makes sense; after all, the children of the Wave One spirits are all in their twenties and thirties, so many of them were raised with (and under the protection of) Wave Two, who were all recruited early.

For those of you who don’t know, Attack is a supporting character in my trilogy Saturn Rising, which is the first installment of The Chronicles of Life & Death. The first book, Aquarius, is available now on Amazon as an e-book and paperback. You can even read it all for free with Kindle Unlimited! Learn more here.
